Why we struggle to define and refine our offering
Struggling with writing your bio, updating your website, or showcasing your work? Here's why it's tougher than it seems...
Ever felt stuck trying to figure out your own strengths, or defining what makes your work unique? It's like being stuck inside a jar, trying to read the label on the outside. I totally felt that way recently while updating my website. When you're so close to your own work, gaining clear insight can seem almost impossible.

The power of external perspectives
Here's the thing: sometimes we need someone else, not necessarily an expert, to read that label for us. We can share our early-stage ideas or challenges with a friend or, if we are brave enough, with a client.
For me, this journey of gaining clarity has been both humbling and enlightening.
I've been lucky to have people in my life who have acted as my 'label readers' - offering perspectives and insights I might have missed on my own. They've allowed me to see my own work in a whole new light and helped me through moments of doubt and confusion.
Sometimes, I didn't have that support, and that's when I wished for a community like IMMA. A place where I could reach out when I'm stuck, to ask for feedback and support. We all have moments where we're too close to our own work to see it objectively. It's in these moments that a supportive community becomes invaluable.
