I was reminded this week of Dietrich Bonhoeffer who fled Nazi Germany, after persecution, only to return and fight in the resistance, until his capture and execution. He talked of cheap and costly grace. Hard for me to understand the strength of will (and faith) to knowingly place oneself on the line like that, and practice such costly grace.
